Reward customer loyalty

Carrefour partnered with CFAO Retail in 2015 to develop various store formats in eight countries in West and Central Africa: Cameroon, Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Ghana, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Senegal.

On 6 December 2017, CFAO Retail opened its first Carrefour Market supermarket in Douala with Minister for Commerce Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana and several other members of the Cameroonian government in attendance.
In 2018, their communication agency Brand It Solutions suggested to the store's management that they celebrate the store's first anniversary with a big tombola with game kiosks.

Client objective Footfall and loyalty

Two digital kiosks with a "one-arm bandit" lever were set up in the Douala store. They were hosted by receptionists. Game vouchers were distributed at the store's tills to be inserted into one of the game kiosks. Customers who had spent at least 15,000 XAF could participate in the instant lottery. Those who had spent at least 25,000 XAF could enter a tombola to win a 4x4 vehicle and a trip with Royal Air Maroc.

The campaign was held again successfully in 2019 for the store's second anniversary. The prizes? A Peugeot pick up and a trip provided by Brussels Airlines, the campaign's partner airline.
